I know a lot of us at liberty.me think voting is wrong because the state is wrong, and there is some validity to that because by voting you do give some kind of air of legitimacy to the state. But that doesn’t mean voting is always wrong. Say aliens invade our planet and declare themselves our rulers. Their military might is unstoppable; revolution is not an option, at least not yet. But they also say they are going to let us pick one of them to make the rules that we have to live by. There are two candidates. The only difference between the two is that one wants to institute a meaningless curfew for some arbitrary reason and the other one doesn’t. Surely it is not an act of aggression to vote for the less oppressive one, is it?
